3-vehicle crash injures 4 on Sunrise Highway
A violent crash forced a shutdown on the westbound side of Sunrise Highway near Nichols Road in Holbrook during Tuesday evening's rush.
Police say a truck, owned by a Bay Shore steel company, crashed into a Ford Mustang and a pickup truck. The steel company truck wound up on top of the pickup truck.
Four people, including two men in the pickup truck, the driver of the mustang and the passenger in the commercial truck, were all taken to the hospital.
The driver of the commercial truck Daniel Rhodes, 58, of Holbrook, had no comment about the incident to News 12.
Rhodes was issued a summons for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
Police say the four people who were injured are expected to be OK.
