Legendary toy store FAO Schwarz is closing its doors today.
The store has been in operation since 1880 and has been at its current Fifth Avenue location in Manhattan since 1986. But high rent is causing the store to seek a new space, according to owner Toys R Us.
Toys R Us says it is actively looking for a new location for the store.
FAO Schwarz, which is known for doormen who dress as toy soldiers and more, has been featured in movies such as "Big," starring Tom Hanks.
