Man dead in Freeport motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist died after rear-ending a tow truck in Freeport Saturday morning.

Police say the man, 33-year-old Edgar Menendez, slammed into the back of the flat bed of a tow truck that was double-parked on Main Street.

Menendez suffered multiple injuries to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tow truck driver was issued a ticket for double parking.

Witnesses told police that the motorcycle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.
