A family is hoping that online donations will help pay for medical bills following Tuesday's crash in Hempstead that killed one man and injured three children.
As News 12 has reported, 55-year-old Jonathan Wade was shot while driving and lost control of his car. He drove through a fence and crashed into the bleachers at Hempstead Middle School.
Issac Ramirez, 4, was one of the children injured. He is being treated at Nassau University Medical Center for a broken leg, internal injuries and was given stitches in his head.
A family friend set up a GoFundMe page to help the family pay for medical expenses.
Issac's 10-year old cousin Emily was injured in the incident Tuesday night and has a bruise on her head.
Police are still trying to figure out who shot Wade, a father of two. Police say the night before his death, he confronted a group of people who had allegedly assaulted his mother outside her home.
There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
