Dead whale washes up on Fire Island
A dead humpback whale washed up on a beach in Suffolk County last night.
The whale was found near Davis Park on Fire Island around 8:30 p.m.
News 12 Long Island is told that the endangered species is about 30-feet long and is between 2 and 5 years old.
The Riverhead Foundation says that it is performing a necropsy to determine how the whale was killed.
