High school senior graduates despite disabilities

A Sanford H. Calhoun High School senior walked across the stage to get her diploma Sunday, despite doctors fearing she would never live to see the day.

Gillian Cohen was diagnosed with a rare liver disease as a child, and also suffers from learning disabilities.

She says hard work and dedication allowed her to overcome her ailments and be successful.

Cohen is heading to LIU Post this fall with hopes of a career in public relations.
