Man accused of beating wife to death arraigned

A man accused of beating his wife to death with a dumbbell in their East Meadow home was arraigned this afternoon.
Hector Bejarano, 53, of East Meadow, was arrested on murder charges last month and accused of repeatedly hitting his wife on the head with a dumbbell.
Mirian Bejarano was found lying on the floor of their Prospect Avenue home April 28.
Bejarano was arraigned on charges including murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
Bejarano was remanded without bail, and if convicted faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
Bejarano is due back in court on July 9.
