Names added to Eisenhower Park veterans memorial

Officials paid special tribute Saturday to Long Island war heroes as 280 new names of service members were unveiled at the Walls of Honor.

Rainy weather Saturday morning did not damper the hourlong proceedings at Eisenhower Park for the nearly 300 people who attended.

Veterans who spoke with News 12 say they are proud to be remembered for their service.

New names are added every year to the Walls of Honor, which now bear the names of more than 10,000 veterans.
