An Eastport-South Manor High School student made a grand entrance to a pre-prom event by arriving with his date in a helicopter.
Nick D'Amato, 17, is a certified pilot and had been plotting the trip since February.
"I'm feeling amazing," he said. "I can't believe I got it approved from the school to actually take the helicopter."
D'Amato landed on a field at the high school for a pre-prom party before going to the main event at Villa Lombardi's.
The teen hopes to make a career out his love of flying.
