3 rescued from water after boat catches fire

Three men were rescued from the Great South Bay after their boat caught fire on Saturday.

Police say the boat was headed to Fire Island when someone spotted smoke coming from the engine.

The men attempted to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher on board. They eventually put on life jackets and jumped overboard.

Suffolk's Marine Bureau picked the men up and treated them for hypothermia.
