Police: Man pulled over taxi, claimed to be Nassau cop

Police say a Queens man pulled over a taxi while impersonating a Nassau County police officer.

Investigators say David Nourmand pulled the taxi over in Upper Brookville on Friday and demanded everyone inside the cab to identify themselves. Minutes later, police say Nourmand stole a woman's cellphone outside the Viana Hotel and Spa in Westbury.

Nourmand was a guest at the hotel.

Police say Nourmand was caught with the help of the hotel's surveillance cameras.
