There is a new push in Albany to make the state property tax cap a permanent part of the budget process.
The State Senate approved a bill Tuesday to prevent the tax cap from expiring next year.
Supporters say it has saved state voters $7.6 billion over the past three years.
The plan to make it permanent has been sent to the State Assembly.
