A North Amityville man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to upgraded charges in a shooting allegedly over a hair pulling incident involving kids.
Police say Anthony Franklin, 28, was upset that his 6-year-old daughter had her hair pulled on the bus ride to school. They say he went to the home of the boy who he thought was responsible.
Police say the boy's grandfather, Wilson McWilliams, was shot twice after an argument at the Albany Avenue home.
According to Newsday, Franklin was arraigned on at least seven indictment counts, including two felony assault charges, misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment. He was originally charged with second-degree assault.
His bail was set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.
