Man sentenced to 25 years in Stony Brook rape case

A man who admitted to raping a Stony Brook house sitter and then trying to have her murdered was sentenced this afternoon to 25 years in prison.

Patrick O'Sullivan admitted to raping the woman nearly three years ago.

He then tried to hire a hit man to kill the woman and another witness before they could testify.

O'Sullivan's victim made a statement in court about how this incident impacted her and her attempts to get back to normal life.

O'Sullivan's attorney says his natural mother and her boyfriend sexually abused him since he was young.
