The Town of Islip has rejected permit requests from the Cole Brothers Circus.
The circus had requested a permit to stage a show at Brookwood Hall Park in East Islip. Town officials say the circus could damage new plants and Little League fields.
Officials also said the circus leaves behind a lot of feces from the animals, They add that it could also attract protesters from animal rights groups.
Calls to the Cole Circus were not returned.
