Officers, neighbor rescue woman from Centereach fire
A Centereach woman was rescued by Suffolk police officers and a neighbor as a fire burned her home.
The flames broke out just after 3 a.m. at a home on Forest Road.
Officials say 66-year-old Rosemarie Donnelly was trapped on the home's second floor.
Officers Frank Saracino and Keith Murphy, along with neighbor Thomas Earl, were able to find a ladder and carry the woman to safety.
Four more people in the home were able to escape on their own.
Officials say a dog perished in the fire. No one else was seriously hurt.
