Bomb threat called in to Roosevelt Field Mall

Police responded to a bomb threat at Roosevelt Field Mall this afternoon.

Police and firefighters were at the mall to investigate. Several roads in the area were closed as a result of the response. The mall was not evacuated.

A statement from Roosevelt Field management says, "After receiving intelligence from law enforcement, the Nassau County Police Department saw cause to sweep the property as a precaution. It was determined evacuation of the center was not necessary."

Police say a thorough search was conducted with negative results.

An investigation is ongoing.
