Residents upset over grass replaced by concrete

Many Nassau County residents say they are not happy that grass in their community is being replaced by concrete.
Nassau County said the move had to be done in order to improve sidewalks.
The county previously took out over 200 trees along the four-mile stretch on South Oyster Bay Road.
Nassau County issued a statement in response to the grass removal, saying "The installation of stamped concrete was...where maintenance was not being performed by the property owner. Lack of maintenance led to overgrowth and litter. When the project is complete, more trees will exist than ever before."
