T-Mobile moves ahead with tower plans in Lake Ronkonkoma

Cellphone giant T-Mobile says it is moving forward with plans to build a cellphone tower in Lake Ronkonkoma.

The company says the plan to finish a tower started in 2011, but stopped over community concern.

The company sent letters to residents last week, according to Newsday.

Some residents worry the tower at Bay Avenue and 11th Street will emit dangerous radiation.

T-Mobile says the tower will meet FCC regulations.

The cell provider is holding another public meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall.
