Cops: 2 arrested for DWI after cars collide

Suffolk police say two drivers were arrested for DWI after their vehicles collided in Babylon early Saturday morning, seriously injuring a passenger who was in one of the cars.
Police say 22-year-old Miguel Almonte was intoxicated behind the wheel as he drove on Livingston Avenue with two passengers in his Honda Civic. He allegedly drove through a stop sign shortly after 3 a.m. and struck a Hyundai Sonata that was heading west on Park Avenue. Almonte's vehicle then struck a telephone pole.
Police say the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 49-year-old Leslie Rizos, of West Babylon, was also found to be intoxicated.
Almonte and his passengers, identified as 22-year-old Joseph Adames and 21-year-old Xavier Gonzalez, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Police say Gonzalez suffered serious injuries, while Almonte and Adames were treated and released. Rizos was also hospitalized, but has since been released.
Police say Almonte and Rizos are both being charged with driving while intoxicated.
