Man accused of trying to collect dead mom's money

A Hempstead man is accused of trying to collect money in his deceased mother's name. 



Police say Tony Theirse, 43, tried to cash Social Security checks made out to his mother between October of last year and February of this year. 



Theirse is also accused of trying to cash other forged checks made out to his mom after she died. 



Theirse pleaded not guilty to his charges today.
