Police: Man shot in North Amityville

Police say a man was shot after numerous rounds were fired in North Amityville. 



The incident happened at Coolidge Avenue and Smith Street around 11:30 p.m. last night.



News 12 Long Island has learned the Shot-Spotter system detected about 10 shots being fired. 



Police say one man was hit, but was able to get himself to the hospital. His injuries are not life threatening. 



There is no word on what triggered the gunfire and no arrests have been made.
