Muttontown shuts down Have-A-Home Kennels
A local kennel that has been in the same family for over 90 years has been shut down.
The Have-A-Home Kennels on Brookville Road in Muttontown was condemned by the village.
The village says that old walls in the kennel put it in danger of collapsing, but an engineer hired by the Boccio family who owns the building says it is still structurally sound.
The Boccio family says that they are devastated by the shutdown. They say that they think the real reason their business was shut down is because of neighbors complaining they want to get rid of the kennel to make way for new and bigger homes.
All animals have to be out of the Have-A-Home Kennels by Monday.
