Month of Green: Recycling aerosol cans
Whether you use them to style your hair or to keep bugs out of your backyard, you might have a lot of aerosol cans around your house.
But did you know there are a lot of Long Island towns that let you recycle these cans right at the curb?
The towns of Riverhead, Southold, Smithtown, Brookhaven, the City of Long Beach and Huntington, all allow you to put aerosols right in your recycling bin.
But if you don't live in one of those towns, don't worry. Each town, or city, has its own recycling program called S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program. That's where you can drop off all those recyclable materials to help save the planet.
