Islanders celebrate Decades Night at Coliseum
The New York Islanders recognized nine former players from the past four decades of hockey at the Nassau Coliseum during Saturday's matchup against the Buffalo Sabres.
The team welcomed its captain Ed Westfall, Garry Howatt, Butch Goring, Pierre Turgeon, Ken Morrow, Bob Nystrom Shawn Bates, Steve Webb and Eric Cairns as part of Decades Night at the coliseum.
The Islanders of this decade say they are aware of the impact that the former players have had on the franchise.
"It's always nice for us to get to talk to them, keep in touch and bounce some ideas off of them," said Josh Bailey.
