Cops ID man critically hurt in East Islip hit-and-run

A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a driver who fled the scene in East Islip, police say.



Police say 49-year-old Jimmy Rice, of Brentwood, was struck as he was crossing Carleton Avenue south of Sunrise Highway at around 3 a.m. Saturday.



Police say the suspect may have been driving a pickup truck.
