Lawrence students win music award at Disney World

Young musicians from Lawrence High School were honored with an award during their recent trip to Disney World.
The Life Rhythm Percussion Ensemble won the Disney Performing Arts Award.
Drum major Amir Mackey says that watching the students fill up the tiny arena was impressive. Officials said it was the largest performance they had seen.
Music coordinator Pam Gallapini says the students were accepted by Disney after they sent a recorded performance down to Florida. She says the students were enthusiastic and happy their hard work paid off.
