Man struck, killed walking on LIE in Melville
Police say no charges have been filed after a man was killed walking on the Long Island Expressway in Melville. 
According to police, Stephen Puleo, 52, of Melville, was hit by a postal service tractor-trailer at around 10:30 p.m. last night. 
The incident happened in the westbound lanes of the LIE just west of exit 49. 
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene, and the expressway was closed for five hours overnight. 
There is no word why Puleo was walking on the expressway.
