Month of Green: Dishwashers can save water and time

This month marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, and being earth friendly doesn't have to mean big changes to your life.
Today, in our Month of Green segment, we have some simple ways to help the planet!
Washing dishes uses water, chemicals and your time. Pre-rinsing by hand is often a waste of water and time because most dishwashers today are made to get all the gunk off.
So scrape don't rinse, and be sure your dishwasher is full when you run it.
American Water Works Association found the average dishwasher uses less than 10 gallons of water per load - if you turn the water on and off you use about double that!
