Music teacher pleads not guilty to molesting students
An instructor at a Hicksville music school is accused of sexually abusing two of his students.
The alleged sexual abuse occurred during private music lessons at the Burt School of Music in Hicksville. Police say 62-year-old Kenton Burt confessed to abusing two female students.
According to police, the victims, ages 9 through 14, were sexually abused several times over the last three years.
A judge called Burt a flight risk who confessed to the "violent felonies."
Burt pleaded not guilty and was ordered to stay away from the alleged victims. His bail is set at $200,000.
Burt's attorney says his client lived on Long Island for three decades before moving to Connecticut, where he lives now.
Police are looking for more alleged victims. They're being asked to call the Special Victims Squad at 516-573-4022.
