9 Connetquot H.S. students arrested in connection to brawl

Nine Connetquot High School students have been arrested in connection to a brawl that took place earlier this month.

The altercation occurred off school grounds on March 7 on Remington Avenue in Ronkonkoma. A 15-year-old male student suffered a broken jaw during the incident, which was captured on a cellphone video. The footage then went viral on the Internet.

According to police, four of the students arrested are being charged as juveniles and will appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Five students were arraigned on charges including criminal possession of a weapon, assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful assembly.

Police tell News 12 that they are still searching for another teen in connection with the incident.
