Report: OTB officials to bypass town on plan approval

News 12 Long Island has learned the Suffolk OTB is moving ahead with its controversial plan for a video lottery terminal without the approval of local officials.

OTB officials tell Newsday they will not send their proposal for the facility in Medford to Brookhaven Town and will instead work directly with state lawmakers.

Some residents tell News 12 they do not want the gaming hall in the area.

OTB does not legally need Brookhaven Town approval for the project, according to officials.
