Flames rip through Brentwood home

Flames ripped through a home in Brentwood early Saturday morning, officials say.

The fire sparked at a home on Helmig Street. Five departments responded to the flames just before 2 a.m.

Neighbors say one of the home's residents was forced to jump from the second floor to escape the flames.

Officials say two occupants of the home and three firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries. They were taken to Southside Hospital.
