A 7-year-old Labrador was saved from the icy waters of a Ronkonkoma pond Thursday.
Guinness was in his family's backyard when he ran out onto a frozen pond located behind the home. He then fell through the ice and was struggling to stay above water.
Within minutes of making a 911 call, Officer Daniel Coan used a cold water rescue suit to help the dog out of the freezing water. His partner Officer Gerry Sheridan assisted on shore.
Guinness is one lucky dog, and is expected to be OK.
