Car crashes into New Cassel church

A car crashed into a church in New Cassel Monday afternoon.

It happened at Bethany Church on Prospect Avenue shortly after 4 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. There is no word on possible injuries.

It marks the second time in two days that a vehicle crashed into a church in Nassau County. A car slammed into a church in Baldwin early Sunday morning, leaving $100,000 worth of damage. The driver in that case, who fled the scene but later surrendered to police, is now facing charges.
