The food pantry at Stony Brook University received a $10,000 donation from Stop & Shop.

The help comes as the need for food assistance on campus has skyrocketed.

The university’s food pantry says it has seen a 110% increase in use since the year 2020.

The pantry is open to the entire campus community, including students, faculty and staff.

It had approximately 1,900 total visits last year.
