WOODBURY - The United States has advanced to the World Cup knockout round despite a 1-0 loss to Germany today.

News 12 sports director Kevin Maher watched the game with fans of both teams at the Plattduetsche Park Beer Hall in Franklin Square.

Fans at the restaurant drank their German beer as the Stars and Stripes flew.

The tension was palpable as all eyes were glued to the screen to watch the game.
