Southampton supervisor returns to work
Southampton Town Supervisor Linda Kabot went back to work Tuesday, a day after she was arrested on drunken driving charges.
After Tuesday?s Town Board meeting, Kabot was mum about the arrest and returned to her office.
?It's being handled through legal channels and on the advice of my attorney I need to keep it that way,? Kabot says.
Police say they pulled over Kabot early Monday morning because she veered out of her lane. According to the police report, her eyes were red and glassy and she smelled like alcohol. She also refused a Breathalyzer test, police say, and failed the sobriety tests at the scene. Kabot?s license has been suspended.
Meanwhile, board members say there?s been no talk of Kabot stepping down.
