Simulator shows dangers of texting while driving
A new simulator, equipped with a steering wheel and smartphone shows the challenges and dangers of texting while driving.
"It simulates a real-life situation and you quickly realize you're gonna crash," says Marissa Shorenstein, of AT&T New York.
News 12 cameras caught drivers attempting to beat the simulator, but they were not successful.
Mayor Bill de Blasio's Vision Zero initiative also includes crackdowns on texting while driving from the NYPD.
