The search for a missing New Canaan mother Friday marks four weeks since her disappearance.
Jennifer Dulos was last seen dropping off her five children at school on May 24. Her estranged husband Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend Michelle Troconis are charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in connection with her disappearance. Police say they captured the two on surveillance video throwing out trash bags at more than 30 locations in Hartford. Tests confirmed Dulos’ blood was on items recovered from the trash.
The prosecution says Fotis' DNA mixed with Dulos’ blood was found on a faucet inside the kitchen of her New Canaan home. But Fotis' attorney, Norm Pattis, argues both Fotis and Michelle have an alibi for the morning Dulos went missing.
Pattis filed motions this week to preserve evidence and return seized property to Fotis, including cars, computers and phones. Fotis and Troconis are out on bond, and both are ordered to wear GPS ankle bracelets.
The search to find Dulos has spanned New Canaan, Hartford, Farmington, Avon and New York.
Police say 25 to 30 investigators have been working the case every day.
Police walked back an earlier announcement stating the search for evidence at a Hartford trash facility in connection with her disappearance was expected to finish Friday.  Police announced the search at the facility would first "end this weekend" then another release stated the search would "end in the near future."
Detectives have been combing through mountains of trash at the facility for more than two weeks. Police say they won't be releasing any information on the evidence they've found at the trash facility.
Meanwhile, police continue to investigate nearly 900 tips from the public.
