STONY BROOK - Students at Stony Brook University School of Medicine celebrated a momentous day in their education today.
The school says 128 students were matched with their medical residency assignments at hospitals around the country. A matching algorithm was used to connect students with the places where they will be starting the next chapter of their lives.
Student Amy DeMarco says, "This is the best day of my life. I've been looking forward to this for so long. I'm so happy."
Stony Brook's students are part of more than 25,000 medical students in the U.S. who also learned of their residency assignments today.
