A walk and 5K event will be held this month in honor of a Long Island Boy Scout who was fatally struck by a drunk driver.
The Andrew McMorris Memorial Walkathon Run will be held on March 28. People who want to participate can register online by clicking here.
Proceeds are going toward construction of the McMorris Lodge at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, the Andrew McMorris Foundation and the Boy Scouts.
Andrew McMorris, 12, was struck and killed by a drunk driver in Manorville back in 2018.
"There is a sense of pride," said Alisa McMorris. "That we can come together as a community and do something that will be here for decades and that is something that we've switched from parenting Andrew to parenting his legacy and this is his legacy."
