After spending most of his life on Long Island, a monsignor from Rockville Centre is heading to the South for a new job with the Catholic Church.
Bishop-elect Robert Gugliemone is set to lead the Diocese of Charleston, S.C. after spending years at St. Agnes Cathedral.
?I am certainly very humbled and honored that Pope Benedict ? would deem to entrust me with the Diocese of Charleston as a bishop,? Gugliemone says.
Gugliemone says he will be installed as bishop March 25.
