Of all the places in the borough to spend a summer evening, one has an old-world charm that can only come from over 100 years of experience.
It's not a surprise that Arthur Avenue is the week three winner of News 12's Road Trip challenge.
For so many, Arthur Avenue is more than just a street. It's a community for tourists and locals alike.
"This community is more than a century old and it's still in the making. You have to come here to feel what makes this neighborhood special," says Frank Franz, an executive board member for Belmont BID.
Many of the spots on Arthur Avenue are a century old with some owned by the original families. Artuso Pastry Shop has been around for over seven decades.
"We have a lot of customers that are based in the Bronx, and people who move out of the Bronx who come in from far and near just to get our stuff because they've been coming here for so long," says Natalia Corridori, manager of Artuso Pastry Shop.
One of Arthur Avenue's "newer" spots is Joe's Deli, which has been around for 40 years.
"There's just a lot of dedication and love that they put into whatever they do. For us, that's what we do, we love coming here every day," says Anthony Ruscigno, manager of Joe's Deli.
From the food to the market to the church, Arthur Avenue brings old-world charm right here to the Bronx.
