Republican Matthew Corey challenges Murphy for Senate seat

With much of the state's attention focused on the gubernatorial race, a U.S. Senate seat is also up for grabs next Tuesday.
Republican Matthew Corey is hoping to unseat the Democratic incumbent Sen. Chris Murphy on Election Day.
Murphy has a strong lead and has spent much of his time campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont. Despite being a long shot, Corey says he is stumping for every single vote.
Corey is a Navy veteran, bar owner and a window washer.
"I get my leadership skills through being a small business owner.  You know, I'm responsible for people's families and livelihoods," says Corey.
A hot topic for both candidates is their thoughts on President Donald Trump. Murphy has taken on Trump on many different topics.
"I think you want somebody who's going to work with Trump when he's doing something right for the state, and work against him when he's doing something wrong," says Murphy.  "Unfortunately, most of the time, Donald Trump is doing things to hurt us."
But Corey sees things differently.
"Whether you like this administration or not, you need somebody down in Washington that's actually going to work with this administration and bring those much-needed federal funds home for the transportation needs," says Corey.
While both candidates see differently on the Affordable Care Act as well, they agree on at least a portion of immigration reform. Both Murphy and Corey think Congress should pass a law letting the so-called "dreamers" stay in the country.
But the comparisons end there -- Corey supports a border wall, while Murphy fiercely opposes it.
