A 2018 bus progress report has given low marks to many city buses.
The Bus Turnaround Campaign gave either a D or an F to 183 of the city's 246 local routes for their performance in the first half of 2018.
In the Bronx, out of 44 routes, 14 were given failing grades while 22 received a D.
The report says that bus speeds were 4.5 percent slower than they were at this point last year. The study also states that ridership fell 5.36 percent in the first half of the year.
The campaign admits there is hope with New York City transit's plan to improve buses and subways, but accuses the DOT of not committing to a serious plan to get buses moving.
A DOT spokesperson responding saying, "The de Blasio administration has committed more for transit than ever before by committing to 20 new SBS (select bus service) routes, and has committed to bring SBS-style improvements to routes citywide through the Bus Forward program."
The MTA also added in a statement, "We truly appreciate the Bus Turnaround Coalition’s support for our aggressive efforts to transform our bus network and deliver a better system for riders. The rollout of all-door boarding will be set as we get closer to the date of the full deployment of the new fare payment system."
The report also gives the NYPD a D for enforcing bus lanes. Police say they have handed out close to 5,000 more bus land moving violations compared to this time last year.
