Report: 28 more charged in 9/11 disability scam
Police say there has been another wave of arrests in an alleged 9/11 disability scam involving 100 retired cops and firefighters.
Last month, investigators announced that four Nassau County men were ringleaders of a huge scheme to collect disability.
Former prosecutor Raymond Lavallee, of Massapequa, ex-officers John Minerva, of Malverne, Thomas Hale, of Bellmore, and Joseph Esposito, of Valley Stream, were all charged.
Police say in addition to those listed, there are reports that another 28 retired cops and firefighters have been charged.
