A calico lobster turned up at a Wantagh seafood market and restaurant on Friday morning.
The unique lobster was shipped to New Wave Seafood Market and Restaurant in a regular delivery.
Transported from Nova Scotia, the animal is aptly named for the orange spots on its shell.
“Just dumb luck. We're here 30 years and we go through maybe 40,000 pounds of lobster a year so we're bound to find something,” said Frank Marinello of New Wave Seafood.
Store employees say they named the lobster Chicky after a dear family member.
The creature will be donated to the Atlantis Exhibit in the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead.
