Rainwater floods Castle Hill home
While the nor'easter caused many parts of the Bronx to flood, some Castle Hill residents claim the water levels on their block are unbearable.
Residents at 2346 Turnbull Ave. said there is a lake in their backyard. Turnbull Avenue, which is a dead-end street, does not have catch basins. Because there are no catch basins, more than 3 feet of rainwater has collected in a construction site behind the house. The residents said more than two inches of that water has already entered the first floor of their home, destroying furniture and other belongings.
The residents said a contractor is scheduled to pump the water out on Tuesday. Meanwhile, city officials said they would look into whether catch basins should be installed on Turnbull Avenue.
