PSEG Long Island is warning customers that scammers have become more creative and sophisticated.
Experts say scam artists have started posing as PSEG workers and knocking on people's doors.

They could also call you demanding money via prepaid debit cards or bitcoin, threatening to turn off your power if you don't comply.
PSEG Long Island says employees will always wear a PSEG Long Island ID badge and PSEG Long Island-branded clothing.
If you want to verify the person at your door is an actual employee, there's a number on the bottom of your bill that you can call.
